I am 18 years old, male, clean driving record, good student, going to college. I will only be going home for occasional weekends, and vacations, and I would like to be insured so I can drive my car (saturn 2000 sl) around. They suggest getting the 6 month policy and paying monthly, and then simply canceling the policy once I am done with it. Therefore if I did this, I would be buying and canceling many policies every year. I would maybe do this a few weekends every semester and also winter, spring, and summer break. So basically I want to save money by foregoing yearly car insurance, but instead would like to do what I stated above. The big question is: IS IT WORTH IT? My car was parked on a decline, stalled, and ran into the back of my friends wagon. My repair quote is about $940, hers is about $615, at a total of about $1555. The excess I have to pay towards insurance repairs is $1045 (standard excess, age excess for being under 25, and some flexi-excess p.o.s). At the moment I only have enough money to fix her car, although that means waiting another few months to fix mine, and I'm impatient. Hers needs to be fixed asap for roadworthy and registration. I also have the option of finding a new bumper for hers at a much cheaper price, although that is proving difficult. Also, my insurance company only likes their choice of repairer. My panel shop has done jobs for the company before, but I'm not certain if they will let me use them. I won't have anyone else repair my car, as the money was going to go to repainting a new bonnet instead of repairing, which insurance won't cover. On another note, I'm not sure how long going through insurance will take. So my question is, do I go through insurance, even though I might not get to use my panel shop and it will cost me almost the same? Or do I leave it, and do what I can to fix my friends car cheaper? California Speeding ticket and no proof of insurance?

It was dark and raining. I just came off the bay bridge in SF and am positive I was driving below 40 on the bridge and between 40-60 when I got off the bridge. The cop was on 80E past fremont exit. I am very curious as to how much my insurance could raise by getting a 2004 nissan 350z. I am on my parents insurance with USAA if that helps. I really need to know, both times ive called USAA they wont speak to me because i am not the owner of the account and their online quoting doesnt seem to work... neither of my parents will call either. How to handle a partial month of health insurance?

I currently am paying for a family health insurance plan with Oxford. The premium is $800 a month, due on the first of the month for that month's coverage, with a grace period of about 30 days. I am switching from a contracting position (where I pay my own insurance) to an employment position (with a very nice health plan) on 9/7/10. What I want to avoid is paying $800 to my current insurance company when I only need 7 days worth of coverage. I also want to avoid a lapse in coverage. Do I not pay anything until the 7th, when my new insurance plan kicks in, and them call them and tell them I am cancelling and only want to pay from the 1st through 7th? Or do I pay the full $800 and hope I will get a pro-rated refund? Thanks in advance!

In 2008 lightening strike hit house and since that time we hav had 6 water dameges in the house.Since that time all insurance companies NEVER real INVESTIGATE or find COUSE OF THAT, Finnaly again We have had BLACK SEPTIC WATER n the house 06/19/2012. 9 days after adjuster show and underastimate damages. month after that , after we constantly complain, ask for updated estimate and approval damages so that we hire contractor Property finaly has been inspected again and they find much more damages ( so far $83.000.00 ). House is damaged very much as well as our belongings. All that time from 2008-today insurance companys charged as with deductibles , we spend lot money trying to fix problems, we are darined emotionaly and financionaly. Last year , just after one similar claim ( 01/06/2011 black water flood ) we were FORCED to file for CH 13 that we can at least save what we can save, TODAY, Insurance company with who is house covered has not reacted We think fast enough to save more house and our belongings. Insurance is escaping to cover what need to be maybe replaced( wood entrance door through septic water was running , built in castum made cabinets in master beedroom, cut wall and replaced behind showertubs........) 9 days after that accident we finaly has Insurance attention and the send SERPRO here. Servpro find that water was SEPTIC, Walls need to be Cut ( so far 1 foot from the ground ). When Servpro cut draywalls ut shows that stabs 2x4 has been damaged , they spray them ( we think that they need to replace them )......... We are now in almost two months after accident becouse we do not agree on damages sattlemant. They serve us on 08.01.2012 with activating adjusster process and we do not have money any more to pay for that, OUR HOUSE DURING PAST 4 YEARS BECOUSE OF ALL THIS LOST LOT ON VALUE AND WE WOULD LIKE TO SUE INSURANCE COMPANIES AS WELL AS TWO LANDERS WHO WERE IGNORING PROBLEM IN THE HOUSE. WE HAVE PROOF FOR ALL THIS . IS ANYWHERE POOSIIBLE TO FIND ATORNEY WHO CAN HELP US LITTLE BIT WITH THIS BIG BROBLEM MY HOUSBAND IS 61 I AM 55 AND MY HOUSBAND IS THISE DAY WORKING OUTSIDE FOR AROUND 70 HOURS A WEEK THAT WE CAN PAY OUR RAISING EXPANSSESS. When i quoted my car insurance, i used my apartment address. After i bought the insurance, i asked them to change to PO BOX as my mailing address. Later on, when i moved to another apartment, i didn't update my current physical address with my insurance company because i am using my PO BOX as my mailing address so far.
